The D series engines from Shanghai Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. are the top choice for powering large tractors and other agricultural machinery in China. As one of the most advanced designs among China's mature engines, the D series boasts a torque reserve of 30-40% and offers a power range from 105 to 280 kW, meeting the National III and National IV non-road emission standards.
The D series engines were originally co-developed with Austria's AVL, taking into consideration the specific characteristics of Chinese oil products and user preferences. In 2005, further enhancements were made in collaboration with the Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) of the United States, including the upgrade to four valves.
